About this Tool

Rich Text Editor on Get-Tools — Professional WYSIWYG with Full RTL Support

The Get-Tools rich text editor is a complete editing tool that runs directly in your browser with no installation, registration, or subscription required. Inspired by TinyMCE and Microsoft Word, it combines a familiar desktop-style interface with advanced features including full support for Arabic and right-to-left (RTL) writing direction. Whether you are a writer, web developer, teacher, or professional, this editor provides all the formatting tools you need to produce content of professional quality.

What is a WYSIWYG Rich Text Editor?

A WYSIWYG editor (What You See Is What You Get) allows you to format text visually, seeing the final result in real time as you type. Unlike Markdown editors or plain text fields, you do not need to know HTML to produce a well-structured and visually polished document. Simply select the text and apply the desired formatting with a single click, and the result is immediately visible in the editing area.

Key Features

Full menu bar

The editor features a 6-entry menu bar modelled on desktop word processors: File for document management, Edit for undo/redo and selection, Insert for tables, links, and images, Format for all formatting options, Table for managing inserted tables, and Tools for changing text direction and viewing the HTML source code.

Comprehensive text formatting

All essential formatting options are available: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, text color with a full color picker, highlight color, superscript, and subscript. Numeric font sizes range from 8 to 72 pt exactly like Microsoft Word, giving you precise typographic control over every element of your document.

Headings and document structure

Four heading levels (H1 to H4) are available alongside normal paragraph, blockquote, and code block. This structural hierarchy is essential for content readability and for SEO optimization of any text you intend to publish on the web.

Table insertion and management

A visual grid picker up to 8×8 lets you insert tables at any size in seconds. Once created, you can add rows before or after the active row, add columns before or after the active column, and delete rows, columns, or the entire table. The first row is automatically formatted as a header row with a distinct background.

Links and images

When inserting links you can set the URL, the anchor text, and whether the link opens in a new tab. For images you can specify the source URL and alternative text for accessibility compliance. Images are automatically constrained to the editor width to prevent layout overflow on any screen size.

RTL/LTR support for multilingual content

Switching between RTL writing direction (for Arabic, Hebrew, Persian) and LTR (for English and other Latin-script languages) takes a single click. This is invaluable for bilingual documents or any content that mixes languages with opposing text directions, eliminating the need for external tools or manual HTML editing.

HTML source code editor

The source mode lets you view and edit the raw HTML of your document directly inside a modal editor. This is particularly useful for developers who want to fine-tune the generated markup or insert custom HTML elements not available through the visual interface.

Statistics and status bar

The status bar at the bottom of the editor displays the current element path in the HTML structure, live word count, and live character count. These indicators are valuable for writers working to specific length requirements or content guidelines.

Practical Use Cases

  • Blog articles and web content: Write, format, and export publication-ready HTML in one step
  • Professional HTML emails: Compose richly formatted emails and copy the HTML code directly
  • Bilingual English-Arabic documents: Use RTL/LTR support to combine both languages seamlessly
  • Simple HTML templates: Build complete HTML structures using tables, lists, and headings
  • Reports and formal documents: Apply heading hierarchy to create clearly structured official documents
  • Educational content: Produce formatted teaching materials rapidly without any additional software
  • Learning HTML: Watch how visual formatting choices map directly to HTML tags in source mode

How to Use the Editor

Start typing directly in the editing area or paste text from any source. Select the text you want to format and use the toolbar buttons or dropdown menus to apply the formatting. To insert a table, open the Insert or Table menu and drag your mouse across the grid to set the dimensions. To insert a link, select the anchor text and click the link icon in the toolbar. When you are done, export your work using the download or copy buttons at the bottom of the editor. The downloaded HTML file includes embedded CSS styles and opens correctly in any modern browser.

Privacy and Security

The Get-Tools rich text editor runs entirely client-side in your browser. No data is ever transmitted to our servers or stored in any database. Everything you write remains exclusively on your device, making it a safe choice for drafting sensitive or confidential documents without any risk of data exposure.
